Be back in 6 weeks

“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and glory forever”
Amen.

I like this analogy p.jae used. We’re the gold and God’s the goldsmith(?) or person who makes the gold. He sits in front of the flaming fire while he puts in the gold into the flame to rid it of all impurities. He sits there enduring the flame with us. And it’s time to take the ring out of the fire only when He can see his reflection in the gold.

Amen

Rejoice not over me, O my enemy;
when I fall, I shall rise;
when I sit in darkness,
the LORD will be a light to me.
I will bear the indignation of the LORD
because I have sinned against him,
until he pleads my cause
and executes judgment for me.
He will bring me out to the light;
I shall look upon his vindication.

Following that

One thing that kinda bothers me is when our brothers and sisters are struggling with support raising, and we can’t give up the money for tickets/clothes/food out/haircuts/clothes/etc. to support them. I get that we’re college students and it’s really hard to make ends meet, I perfectly understand. You got classes you gotta pay for? Cool, take care of that first. You don’t have a job? Cool, focus on doing what you gotta do to get that job. It’s not your money to give? Cool, then don’t feel bad about not supporting, I aint trying to make you feel guilty, because I know it’s hard for students. What I don’t get is how much we’ve hardened our hearts to excuse ourselves from helping those we know personally in exchange for self-satisfaction. It’s not even like a far off concept of people who are in need - it’s people that we see regularly - but of course, we would rather just make this a matter of convenience. Granted, I’m no better if not even worse, but experiencing it for the first time from the receiving end definitely hurts. I thank God though that I haven’t had to struggle as much as others do for support raising, because I don’t think I would have the faith to see it through. But damn, what hardened hearts we have. Especially when the money is going directly towards sending workers to the harvest field. Definitely not cool. Not one bit.

But thank God also that “all the promises of God find their Yes in him,” and that He will send those He called. And so I hope those who are still struggling to reach 100% have faith that God knows the energy, time, and commitment that has been invested and will answer our prayers. Thank God that we can trust in God, when man fails so hard. And to those who are praying for us, thank you so much, because God knows we definitely need them to cling onto Him.

Support Raising

So i came across this passage whilst doing some readings,

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.As it is written,

“He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor;
    his righteousness endures forever.”

10 He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.11  You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.12 For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.13 By their approval of this service, they will glorify God because of your submission that comes from your confession of the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of your contribution for them and for all others,14 while they long for you and pray for you, because of the surpassing grace of God upon you.15 Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!

I think this passage is so true. At least from my end, I know that receiving support has undoubtedly produced a lot of thanksgiving, humbling, and awe. It’s actually kinda crazy how faithful God is, to the extent of confusion. I always seem to ask like….why are you helping me? Why are people actually supporting me? Why is God so faithful when I don’t even fast for 24 hrs, when I don’t make enough phone calls, or when I wait last minute to do everything? In the end, I just don’t quite get it, but God is awesome. These few weeks have been such a huge blessing
